My work is a reflection of my own experiences as a human being.  As a human, I struggle with my personal attachment to memory and accepting the past.  As an artist, I have concerned myself with exploring this idea through repurposed fiber materials.  Memory bends and folds in and out of our daily lives and is constantly being re-informed by new experiences.  It acts as a capsule of our entire life and is used to reminisce of better places and different times.  However, memory is also entirely unpredictable—it can hide and suppress itself as an act of self-preservation.  My focus is here—where the unreliable nature of memory intrudes on our life.
