University of Montevallo Sculpture Exhibition

River Park in Bonita Springs, Florida. March 2019-August 2021

In the Fall of 2018, the University of Montevallo's Public Sculpture class corresponded with the Arts in Public Spaces Committee of Bonita Springs, Florida.  By March of 2019, my classmates and I each installed our own steel sculptures in River Park, under the guidance of professor Tanner Young.  Conceptually, I wanted to convey a sense of depreciation with the form.  I wanted to work with gravity to enhance that idea and really allow the form to sag and deflate.  It should appear like there is a struggle between the two different colored parts, as if one is overpowering another, yet they both need each other to remain balanced.
